Turks and Caicos are a group of coral islands that are a British Overseas Territories area in the Atlantic Ocean. They’re famous for their sandy white beaches, coral reef and turquoise blue waters which makes them a popular tourist destination. Additionally, they’re great diving and snorkelling spots, with thousands of aficionados visiting every year. Whether you want to take part in water sports or visit a few exotic places on the island, these are some great spots to make the best of your holiday:

    • Grace Bay in Provo is easily the most popular vacation spot in the group of islands. For example, it has a great beach and is close to recreational facilities. You’ll find a golf course, restaurants and shopping facilities in easy walking distance! This way, you can easily fit a day of fun in the water, shopping and golfing into one day if you want.

    • Bright Reef is also known as Coral Gardens. It’s the most popular snorkelling reef in Turks and Caicos. Since the creatures in this reef are used to snorkelers, they’re very unlikely to attack. Popular animals that might cross your swim are green turtles, Nassau groupers, nurse sharks, spotted eagle rays and many others.

    • If you are looking for a quieter excursion away from the liveliness of the beach, then a trip to the Turks and Caicos National Museum should be just the thing. Located on Front Street in Grand Turk, the museum showcases the natural history of the islands in addition to chronicling the lives of the slaves who first lived on the island. There is a museum shop and island as well as several exhibits of vessels that have been shipwrecked off the island.
    • A former cotton plantation, Cheshire Hall is a popular attraction for history buffs. While it now lies mostly in ruins, tourists can still see what life on a plantation may have looked like and view a few native and cotton plants that still grow on the plantation. The plantation’s main house sits on a hill providing panoramic views of the area.
